Kristen Scarber, LPC

I believe that we are all born with a capacity for happiness and inner well-being, and each of us desires to live a meaningful and enjoyable life. Adolescence and early adulthood are times of tremendous change during which we reflect on our identities, forge significant relationships, and begin to conceptualize the future. I have experience working with adolescents and teens and I recognize the many challenges that youth face in our current world. Rosemary Garrone, LPC

At times, we all struggle with the inevitable trials of being human. You may be a parent or partner in a significant relationship struggling with connection, and in need of both practical and emotional support. At times, feelings of anxiety, apathy, and depression arise, and feelings of disconnection and loneliness can take hold. For others, we may be at a crossroads in our life, brought about by divorce, relocation, caregiving for a loved one, or a desire to have a bigger impact in our communities and the world. We may be asking ourselves BIG questions, “what’s next”, “what should I do”, and “what do I want from life”.
Helping adults, adolescents, and families relate and communicate better with one another, and to learn how to successfully negotiate their environments. I also see adults, and families. Shannon Mathis Meyer, MSW, LCSW

I’ve been a therapist for 6 years, and have worked in the mental health field for the past 15 years. I graduated in 2010 from UNC Chapel Hill School of Social Work, which is one of the top 5 schools in the U.S. for social work. I am licensed in Georgia as a LCSW. I have experience working with individuals, families, children, and adults, who are struggling with various mental illnesses or just the stress of everyday life. I have extensive experience with anxiety and mood disorders, as well as with those with trauma. I utilize techniques such as CBT, person-centered, mindfulness, and motivational interviewing to help people learn how to improve their lives and be well.

Bill Jordan, LPC, CPCS, NBCC

Weekend and Evening Appointments available. I specialize in working with children, adolescents, and adults undergoing a wide range of emotional, behavioral, academic, and relational difficulties. I approach therapy with the understanding that each child and family is unique; therefore, I tailor my approach to best meet each client’s individual needs and challenges. I know it may be difficult to find someone you can trust to work with, but I am genuine, warm, empathetic, and non-judgmental. I provide a supportive environment in which my clients feel safe, so I can help them to explore and work through their difficulties. Catrin Jensen, LPC, NCC, CPCS

As the owner of Balanced Living and a graduate of New York University’s Department of Applied Psychology, I will provide you with a non-judgmental approach to change. I have 15 years of diverse experience helping my clients move towards healing and balance. We will work towards relief for you by utilizing an integrative approach; focusing on mind and body.

I have a wide range of experience working with students, seniors, adults, adolescents, and Public Safety personnel in an outpatient setting, as well as a strong background in forensic counseling. I specialize in the treatment of: depression and anxiety, trauma, grief and loss, self-esteem and life cycle concerns, including postpartum issues. I assist my clients in the development of effective communication and boundary/limit settings by utilizing mindful cognitive behavioral techniques, when appropriate. I provide support to my clients by helping them use their own strengths to reach their inner peace and balance.

I am also a Clinical Supervisor and enjoy providing my experience and passion to students who want to pursue a career in Counseling. This is done through a one on one approach, which will give the students a strong foundation from which to build upon.

Reba Bales, LPC, CPCS

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with over 20 years experience which includes working in Special Education as a Social Worker in a school setting, as a College Counselor providing career, academic, and personal counseling, as a Mental Health Counselor in a psychiatric hospital, and as a Mental Health Counselor in the forensic field. I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work from the University of Georgia and a Master’s Degree in Counseling from the University of West Georgia.

My goal in treatment is to establish a safe and therapeutic collaborative relationship in which individuals can work toward balance and wellness in a holistic manner regardless of ethnic, religious or non-religious background, or sexual orientation. This includes addressing issues related to the mind, spirit, and body. I assist in working toward achieving “serenity amidst the storm”. I am especially skilled in working with co-occurring disorders, trauma, domestic violence, divorce, individuals with special abilities, and forensics.

April Britt-Linville, LPC

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with over six years of clinical experience working with families, individuals (both adults and children/adolescents), and groups. My desire is to assist my clients in meeting their own goals for treatment by coming alongside them to be a support and partner in growth and healing for each of my clients.

I am skilled in working with couples, families, adolescents, depression, anxiety, emotional dysregulation, parenting and co-parenting, divorce, anger management, grief and loss, and goal-setting. I also have experience working with children, substance abuse issues, Bipolar, Borderline Personality, ADHD, and with the LGBTQ population.

My approach to therapy is tailored to each client’s needs, but the basis of my root foundation stems from CBT, iDBT, and Systems Theory. I see individuals as a part a larger, and multi-layered, whole. We operate in our worlds through relationships to others, as well as with ourselves, and finding balance in life has a direct effect on our interactions with ourselves (self-talk) as much as with others. I believe there is no “bad” emotion, rather healthy and unhealthy ways to handle those emotions, therefore I seek to provide a safe and open space to process those emotions for my clients. I also subscribe to the belief that one cannot teach what one does not know, and I have personally placed myself in the vulnerable, and often scary, place of the client seeing a therapist. Tia Smith, M.Ed

I specialize in creating a safe and accepting environment for teens and adults to work through their struggles. The teenage and college years can be a time where many feel misunderstood and alone in their emotions. In therapy, I create a space where individuals feel validated and supported so that they can overcome their struggles. I always remain understanding and nonjudgmental to create a safe place for my clients to express themselves freely. During my sessions I strive to incorporate creativity into my interventions. Mindfulness, arts and crafts, and fiber arts are a few areas that I excel. If you’ve ever felt like there is no hope for your situation, then you know that it can be difficult to reach out for help. You or your child may be struggling at school or work, with relationships, trying to overcome trauma, or just need someone to help you cope with anxiety and depression. It is okay to ask for help, both for yourself or with your child. I am a pre-licensed counselor working under the supervision of Catrin Jensen, LPC. This means I am able to offer you a reduced rate for your sessions. I have experience working with teens and young adults and work to build a trusting connection with them.
